Painting a house in the Old King's Highway Historic District
The Old King's Highway Regional Historic District covers the bay side of six Cape towns: Sandwich, Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis, Brewster and Orleans. Inside it, any building may be painted white without approval; any other new color needs the town committee, which asks for color chips and has 45 days to act.
